President and CEO of Bright Lights USA, Inc., in Barrington, New Jersey, Daniel “Dan” Farber leads the company’s efforts to produce and distribute spare parts to clients in the defense and industrial sectors. When he isn’t working at Bright Lights, Dan Farber supports relief organizations such as the American Red Cross.

In early January, the American Red Cross reported its response to home fires in the first days of 2018 increased significantly compared to the same period in the previous year. From Jan. 1-9, the organization said home fires jumped almost 60 percent, with 3,150 fires reported in that time period versus 2,003 in 2017.

As part of its effort to help reduce home fires and the deaths that can result from lack of detection, the Red Cross rolled out an initiative during the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday to install smoke alarms inside homes located in at-risk neighborhoods. The organization also provided education about fire prevention and what to do when a fire breaks out. To learn more about the American Red Cross and its programs, visit redcross.org.
